Stock Battery Replacement Kit

for 2018+ Wrangler & Gladiator with Gas Engine

This kit replaces both of the stock batteries in the gas JL & JT with two Group 25 size batteries.

All wiring remains 100% stock, with no changes to the ESS (Engine Stop Start) system.

The kit will replace the stock plastic battery tray with our new heavy duty steel battery tray. This is the same battery tray that comes with our full dual battery system for the JL & JT.

This kit is perfect for Jeep owners who like the ESS system and do NOT want to disable it, but want to replace the troublesome small aux battery with a more reliable full sized battery. No more removing the factory fuse box or pulling out the inner fender liner to access your small battery!

This kit is easily upgradable to our full Gen 3 dual battery system by replacing the top bracket with the Power Hub, see here for details.

Kit Contents

Steel battery tray to replace stock plastic tray
Top lid to securely hold two Group 25 batteries (sold separately)
Power & ground bus bars for accessory connections

Battery Options:

Requires 2 Group 25 size batteries, any brand.
Batteries must be the same physical size for the lid to securely hold them in place
We recommend the Full Throttle FT750-25 or the Odyssey ODP-AGM25, or any other high quality AGM batteries
The Optima Red Top Group 25 and the Optima Yellow Top Group 75/25 will work, but due to their physically smaller size, they have far less capacity than other brands, and therefore we do not recommend Optima batteries with this kit.
Traditional wet lead acid batteries are NOT recommended
Note the stock battery is NOT compatible with this kit

Optional Ring Terminals

Are you planning on connecting some accessories to the power & ground bus bars? We offer this convenient 16 piece assortment of high quality, adhesive-lined heat shrink ring terminals. These are much better quality than the cheap ring terminals at the auto parts stores.

Each package Includes 4 each of the following sizes to match the bus bars on the Gen 3 Power Hub.

#10 ring, 16-14ga
1/4" ring, 16-14ga
5/16" ring, 12-10ga
3/8" ring, 12-10ga

Q: How much room is left between the side of the engine bay and the batteries? I have a LASFIT aux switch kit that mounts right next to the batteries and I'm wondering if there is still enough room for it if I installed a dual battery kit.

A: You would need to find another place to mount the switch kit. There is next to no room between the fender and the battery tray.

A: Yes, since we use the same battery tray for all three JL kits, you can easily upgrade with the purchase of the Group 25 Power Hub.

A: This will work in any Jeep that has both the large battery and the small additional battery.

A: This kit is compatible with the for 2018+ Wrangler & Gladiator with gas engine only. It will not work in a diesel application.

A: Any cold-air intake system that does not use any more space than the factory air box is fully compatible.

Q: In the event there is not enough power to crank. Can crank battery be jump started using the traditional method of jumper cables?

A: Yes, you can use jumper cables to jump start the engine just like you would with the factory setup.

Q: will using this kit cause the engine light to come on after the 6 ess events ? just like your main dual battery kit does ?

A: Installation of this kit presents nothing electrically different to the vehicle than OEM configuration. It will not cause the ESS system to trigger any errors.
