G Screen Firmware Update

For any version firmware prior to 5.3, this update is necessary for your screen to work properly with our new GEN 3 Dual Battery Kits

To update your existing G Screen to work with any of our GEN3 Dual Battery Kits

Step 1: Check out as usual with this item in your cart
Step 2: We will send you instructions to send us your screen, ribbon cable, and interface module
Step 3: We will flash the firmware, calibrate a new interface module, and return it to you asap!

Q: Any special instructions with stock auxiliary switch panel? I missed it if it was in the video. Is there enough cable to reach the 12VDC and/or media plugs on the control panel? Going to put the monitor there if possible. Thanks!

A: We recommend installation as shown in the installation video. While there may be many other options, we have not explored them as our solution works just fine. We'd love to see what you come up with though!

Q: Hi, I bought this G screen last year with the old-style hub for my 2022 Tacoma a few weeks later you came up with the new hub with a cover and would like to purchase it. About the G screen, I don't remember if I bought the firmware upgrade already, is there a way to know if I already have the firmware update on my existing Gscreen? Thanks.

A: The new GEN3 G Screen will show firmware version 5.3. Any number less than that will not work with the GEN3 power hub

Q: do i need this if i have V2.0 ??

A: This "product" is necessary for customers who upgrade a previous generation kit to our new GEN3 kit, but want to use their existing G Screen. Updating the G Screen without updating the battery kit would render the G Screen useless. Similarly, upgrading to the GEN3 power hub and not updating the G Screen would have the same effect.

Q: I bought a battery kit and g screen bundle for my Jeep in April of 2022 (order number 26497). I see that there is an new G screen to match the Gen 3 power hub (which I'll be ordering soon). There is also a 'firmware update' for older G Screens. Is there any difference in the hardware? Should I order a new matching G Screen Gen 3, or what?

A: Customers who already have a G Screen need only to purchase the FIrmware Update. The control module is replaced and the screen gets a firmware flash. There is no benefit to ordering a brand new G Screen.

A: Yes. The GEN3 kits will not work with G Screens that have not been either purchased with the new firmware or upgraded.

Q: Do I need to do the upgrade to my g screen to use the air pressure add on? I have a gen 2 system from 2017

A: There is no need to upgrade your system to accept the air pressure sensor. As long as you see two white connections on the control module, the firmware is already set up to display air pressure when the sensor is plugged in. The extra plug is two prong, and is right next to the plug that is already there for the battery kit.

Q: Just ordered the gen 3 lid, is there any tricks to removing the g screen? I did not install it, does it just push out from dash and the ribbon just pulls off of it.

A: You'll need access to the back of the screen, but yes it just pushes out from the dash. It is held in by four small spring clips that you'll depress to release the screen.

A: You would be responsible for shipping your existing equipment back to us for the update.

Q: Is there any way to do it with out shipping it to you because I live in Saudi Arabia and it will cost me more to ship it then if I get a new one

A: There is no way to flash the firmware without sending the screen and module to us. We use a proprietary device to access and update the existing firmware, then calibrate the module to the screen.

Q: If you were to replace the g-screen instead of updating, will the new updated one fit the existing templated hole with out having to modify it?

A: Yes. Everything is still physically the same, but the new version has the updated firmware to work with the new kit.

Q: How long is the cord to connect to the Genesis 3 system from the g-screen? the one with the system I have now was about 10 0r 12 inches to short and resulted in problems trying to reach the connection and caused me to run it across the top of the back side of the motor. not a very good solution.

A: The new G Screen for the GEN3 is physically identical to the current G Screen. The only difference is the firmware, which adds menu options. The cable for both is 11'
